Loss

The Weaver kneels on a cloud holding her wings in both hands. She looks down in sorrow for the loss of her freedom to fly. 

Amissio is Latin for “loss” and is generally an unfavorable figure in most situations.  The formation of dots in Amissio represents an upside-down bag with the contents spilled out. In situations where loss is desired, (illness, depression, heartache) Amissio can be favorable, but in all situations where gain is desired Amissio is highly unfavorable. Amissio is balanced by Acquisitio and reminds us of the impermanence of things. Amissio is strengthened in the 2nd house and weakened in the 8th.
