Flowers for Dreamers

I hope the first month of the new year has been off to a good start. We've been working hard in the studio on the first new edition of 2020: "Flowers for Dreamers" is an 18" x 24" six color screenprint inspired by the popular 2018 print Moonflowers for Time Travelers. This print is a nod at impressionist surrealists that have inspired my work in the past. As a teenager I had a print of "The Elephants" by Dali hanging up on my wall. I would fall asleep every night staring at this print, dreaming of a time when I could make art like the masters.

We wanted to start off the year with something familiar but new and whimsical. In 2019 we made a lot of various types of prints, both new and traditional, and so it feels somewhat calming to return to what we know best.

I've heard from a lot of you about releases and edition sizes and so I'm approaching this new print with something for everyone. The main edition on Cougar White paper will be a timed edition, which means anyone can buy one, or multiple prints, during the sale period. These will be priced relatively low for my recent editions in the past year ($75). Besides the timed edition there will be two other limited editions - a rainbow foil edition of 25 and a wood panel edition of 10. The wood panel edition is just like the small set of wood panel prints we made in 2018 for Moonflowers. These are on deep cradled wood panels and are "ready to hang" and look just like paintings on wood.

All three editions of Flowers for Dreamers will go live in the shop on Wednesday, January 29th at 3PM PST. The timed edition will run through Saturday at 3PM, but the other two editions will likely move quickly.

You can view more details and photos of each edition now at  www.jamesreadsmerch.com and make your decisions ahead of the drop.

Another reminder email will go out right before the drop on Wednesday.

Love,
James
