every light is on (but still it gets dark) is a collection of mixed media pieces by James R. Eads that captures The Light as a distinct entity. Throughout the series, The Light is portrayed as a corporeal character navigating the porous boundaries between material and ethereal realms.Beyond mere fleeting experiences of beauty or comfort, Eads renders the light into a source of life-affirming dependability, constancy even through inevitable change. The Light becomes an old friend, a teacher, a home. Eads uses The Light to offer a glimmer of hope, a renewed sense of wonderment, and, too, a sobering reminder that, sometimes, Darkness pervades The Light.
