How to Read With Mirra Visions Prisma Visions Periodical James R. Eads fine art prints and Prisma Visions tarot cards

How to Read With Mirra Visions

A 79-card hybrid deck where each card shows two separate artworks alternating on one surface sounds intimidating. Even despite this deck including an easy-to-read guidebook, some might opt for a simpler companion where each card has one meaning (two if you are a mystic who interprets reversals). While Mirra Visions has the potential to be a complicated deck with more than one way to read it, the option to choose how to read it, makes this an accessible tool for those who prefer a little more flexibility.

Reading with the included Guidebook.

The guidebook included with the Mirra Visions Lenticular Tarot and Oracle deck interprets both images on each card as one. This guidebook approaches the deck with the simplest way to read, treating each card as a singular card. The included guidebook also provides an interpretation for each card reversed.

For example, the 79th card, Garden Chimes + Water Song, is unique to the Mirra Visions and only exists as one card. In other words, you will not find an individual card for Garden Chimes in either the Cosma Visions or Prisma Visions decks used to create the rest of the 78 Mirra Visions cards. For this reason, we only have one interpretation of this card.

Garden Chimes / Water Song

UPRIGHT MEANING
duality - fusion - entanglement - impact

REVERSED MEANING
deception - distorted reality - clouded visions - increased vigilance

Alternatively, let's look at a card like the Ace of Pentacles / Ace of Trees. We can choose to use the combined meaning offered in the included Mirra Visions guidebook, or use the individual meanings that come from either of the parent cards which can be found in the Big Visions Book or our online Compendium for Prisma Visions or Cosma Visions.

Ace of Pentacles

UPRIGHT MEANING
material reward - new adventure - abundance

REVERSED MEANING
hesitation - lost opportunity - assess options

or

Ace of Trees

UPRIGHT MEANING
new growth - opportunity - prosperity

REVERSED MEANING
lost opportunity - instability - scarcity

Here are some reasons why you might choose to read Mirra Visions this way.

  1. You want to do a spread using Cosma Visions cards only.
  2. You want to do a spread using Prisma Visons cards only.
  3. You do a spread, but either the Cosma or the Prisma artwork is resonating with you more.

A reason mystics love Mirra Visions is that they can essentially carry around 3 decks with them condensed into one. At any given time, they can choose to do a spread using the Mirra Visions interpretations, the Cosma Visions interpretations, or the Prisma Visions interpretations. This is why many Mirra readers end up purchasing the Big Visions Book to complement the Mirra Visions guidebook already included with their cards.
