In the Northern Hemisphere, we are celebrating the first day of Spring. A day that represents balance, rebirth, and renewal. We enjoy an equal amount of daylight hours as dark hours today, making this the perfect time to practice rituals of duality and harmony.
On this day, we often:
Plant seeds - Starting a garden is a great way to celebrate the season. Take part in the transformative act of bring new life into this world. Acknowledge the elements that will nurture your seeds by offering thanks to the sun, soil, rain and pollinators.
Create a birdhouse or habitat for insects - Fill a birdfeeder or create a small pond to nourish the creatures that share this existence with us. The tiny worlds we often overlook are abundant in Spring if you know where to look.
Refresh your Altar - Take time to care for your sacred spaces, whether that be a bedroom, bathroom, or even a small corner dedicated to your daily practice. Bring in elements that are specific to the season and rehome items that no longer serve you. Fresh herbs can be used for tea or a fragrant bath or hung up to dry for more prolonged use.
Set intentions - Press herbs and flowers to preserve the energy of this day. Journal your reflections of the past season and your intentions for the present one. The energy of balance and duality is great for charging your tools and cleansing your spirit.
